To promote the use of biodegradable and compostable bags, and circuits of circular economy, UBATEC signed an agreement with the Provincial Organism for Sustainable Development (OPDS) of the Province of Buenos Aires. The agreement was signed by the executive director Rodrigo Aybar and Lorenzo Basso, president of UBATEC.
The biodegradable bag promoted by the Province, is already implemented in the municipalities of Vicente Lopez, San Miguel, General Lavalle, Mar Chiquita and will soon arrive in Necochea. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of Environmental Planning and Sustainable Development, Martín Boccacci and the Provincial Director for Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Oscar Solís.
“Although the agreement begins with this issue of biodegradable bags, it also has a very broad field of action with future projects, such as the production of fuels through the treatment of plastic containers, as well as other projects.”
The commitment of UBATEC is to help the body with environmental regulations that are part of the circular economy, particularly with biodegradable plastics. We as certifiers of this material, we ensure that the companies that manufacture the bags have our approval according to the requirements at national and international level.
